Close Quarters
Hebrews
4:16
So let us come boldly to the throne of our
gracious God.
There we will receive His mercy, and we will find
grace
to help us when we need it the most. (NLT)
Because
our Lord God and Savior, Jesus Christ, shed His blood and died as the finial
sacrificial Lamb of God, we who believe that no other sacrifice is needed for
our salvation are now able to come boldly into God’s Holy Presence, to ask for
His forgiveness and His help—help that is needed every day of our lives if we
want to survive the onslaught of evil that has gripped this godless world. And now that Jesus has set us free from our
bondage to sin and death, we not only have the ultimate High Priest in Heaven
as our Advocate, but we also have the Good Shepherd providing us with
everything we need to live a righteous and holy life. And with our sovereign Advocate and Good
Shepherd, there is also peace and protection while we live in a world that is
anything but peaceful or safe. We live
in a deceitful world filled with soul hungry beasts that are preying on the
weak and destroying lives. But
Christians live in the safety of the Shepherd's flock and we do not live in
fear, but in Truth. And we are
protected from the jaws of eternal death by the blood of Messiah.
If you
want to survive in this Jesus hating world, you would be wise to remain close
to the One who died to save you from the pits of Hell, and let Him lead you to
greener pastures where you will drink the living water of eternal life. People are weary with thirsty souls that long
to be refreshed and strengthen for the difficult life-journey that we didn't
volunteer for. There is no One greater
than the Good Shepherd of our souls, because Jesus is the Sovereign Living God
who knows all things and nothing slips by Him.
You should listen when He calls, my friend, and do what He says. For when you do, it will not only save you
from an eternity of darkness and regret, but Jesus will heal your wounds,
comfort your soul, and make all things new, which will give you a peace so incredible
that you can't keep it to yourself.
A
Whisper of Hope
I
AM the Good Shepherd…you are Mine.
I will never abandon you in darkness, nor leave you unprotected and
alone. My Light will keep the enemies of
your soul at bay and save you from the Devil, who lurks in the darkness ready
to pounce and rip your life to shreds.
Come into My flock, dear one and you will find rest and safety for your
battle-weary soul.
John
10:14-15
“I am the Good Shepherd; I know My own sheep,
and they
know Me, just as My Father knows Me
and I know the Father. And I lay down My life for
the sheep.
The LORD is my shepherd; I
have everything I need.
(Psalm
23:1)
