“Anew
Way”
Hebrews 9:11, 12
So Christ has now become the High Priest. He has entered that great,
perfect Sanctuary in Heaven, not made by human hands and not part
of this created world. With His
own blood—not the blood of goats and
calves—He entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured
our redemption forever. (NLT)
Our Lord God and Savior,
Jesus Christ, is the final sacrificial Lamb of God—no other blood needs to be
shed for the forgiveness of sin. The blood and death of Jesus satisfied God's anger for those who accept Jesus' death and resurrection as their own. This Good
News clothes us in the righteousness of Christ and provides the Way to
Heaven. Under this
saving grace of God, no other blood sacrifice is needed. The old system of sacrifice found in the Law
of Moses was only a shadow of the true sacrifice of Jesus to come, paving the way
for our sins to be forgiven once and for all time.
But there is yet another
sacrifice that is needed; it is the living sacrifice of putting to death our
old sinful life by nailing it to the Cross, and be resurrected into a new creation,
living in the Power of the Holy Spirit.
There is no other way. Once forgiven, always forgiven. No longer do we need to struggle alone with
sin and the powers of darkness, because we have the Holy Spirit in our hearts
to give us everything we need to persevere.
When you accept the gift of forgiveness and salvation from the Lord, you
are cleansed of all sin. In Christ you
are made perfect, without Him you are guilty.
A Whisper of Hope
Surrender, dear child...and let My death be yours. I paid the price for your sins so you would
not have to. All that is needed is your
living sacrifice—putting to death your old life of sin to become a new creation
in Me—forever cleansed and robed in My righteousness.
2 Corinthians 5:17, 18
What this means is that those who become Christians become new
persons.
They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life
has begun!
All this newness of life is from God, who brought us back to Himself
through
what Christ did. (NLT)
May you always be filled with the fruit
of your
salvation—those good things that are
produced in your life by Jesus Christ.
(Philippians 1:11)
