                   Spirit Power
Romans 8:6-7
If your sinful nature controls your mind, there is
death. But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind,
there is life and peace. For the sinful nature is
always hostile to God.  It never did obey God’s
laws, and it never will.  (NLT)

The only way anyone can refrain from following their sinful nature is through the Power of God, the Holy Spirit, because our nature to sin is just too powerful. Most people sin without really thinking about it because they don't know they are sinning. We have no choice in the matter of our birth and the sin nature attached to it, but the moment we begin to think for ourselves we begin to act upon our nature to sin. Although God created us with the sense of right and wrong, He also gave us the freedom to make our own choices, whether right or wrong.  And it is these choices that not only determine our earthly lifestyles, but they also determine our eternal destiny as well. We all come into this world as sinners and we will all leave this world a sinner, and without the blood of Jesus we are condemned to die the sinner's second death.  The human will is much weaker than our nature to sin is, so sinning becomes almost as natural as breathing. Because sin seeks to satisfy our inherent carnal pleasures, we tend to do it even though we know the consequences are risky at best.
The curse of sin and death is indeed a mighty force to be reckoned with—one that is satanic driven and much too powerful for human strength alone. We must have the sovereign power of God the Father if we are to win the battles for our hearts and souls.  We must have the indwelling of God the Holy Spirit to successfully fight the Enemy, and we need God the Son as our Savior.  We should take advantage of the love that the Lord has for us, because He has broken the power of sin and the fear of death that holds us in bondage. There is no One more sovereign than the Almighty God of creation and there is no One more gracious and forgiving than our Lord God and Savior. And with the Power of the Holy Spirit, you have God completely on your side!

                                A Whisper of Hope
Be Mine, dear child…for I love you with a love beyond your understanding.  I gave you My life and I ask you for yours.  You cannot stop the sin that you so love doing without the power of the Holy Spirit that is mine to give upon your salvation.  Ask—and you shall receive!

Galatians 5:16-18
So I advise you to live according to your new life in the
Holy Spirit. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful
nature craves.  The old sinful nature loves to do evil,
which is just opposite from what the Holy Spirit wants.
And the Spirit gives us desires that are opposite from
what the sinful nature desires.  These two forces are
constantly fighting each other and your choices are never
free from this conflict.  (NLT)

For His Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts.
                                               (Romans 8:16)
