“Joy in
Thanksgiving”
Psalm 28:7
The LORD is my strength, my shield from every
danger.
I trust in Him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart
is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. (NLT)
Because
we live in a world that demands much and thrives on our weakness, we need a
Savior who has the Sovereign Power to protect our hearts and minds from being
poisoned and our souls from being destroyed by this wicked world. We need a Savior who is True and Faithful,
and that Savior is Christ Jesus, our True God and Faithful Lord. Because our God is the Creator and His Divine
attributes are perfect, holy, and just, we can faithfully trust Him with our
everyday lives knowing that He will keep us safe and on the path to glory—even
when we fail, stumble and loose our way.
And once we discover how true and faithful our God is, our hearts will
be filled with so much joy that we will sing songs of praise and thanksgiving
to the only True and Faithful God there is.
Prior
to Jesus rescuing me from the darkness I was trapped in, I never knew the joy
of anything because my world was too dark and I was too bitter. My heart was hardened by war and my mind
poisoned with lies, which left my heart empty and hopeless and I was desperate
to pull the plug. I had become so
consumed in my own self-loathing and self-destruction that I sank deeper into
my miserable existence, working on a free ticket to Hell. But through the love, mercy, and grace of
God, I was saved from the clutches of Satan and for the first time in my life,
I found hope and peace in knowing my life was safely in the Savior's
hands. Now I am singing songs of praise
and worship for His great works of creation and His amazing grace, which gives
Him great pleasure and glory, because it honors and glorifies His greatness.
A
Whisper of Hope
It
honors Me, My child…whenever you sing songs of praise and worship to
Me as your God. When you honor Me with
your praise, I will honor you. When you
proclaim My Glory, I will share it with you.
I gave it all so you could have it all, so live this life in
thanksgiving. When you glorify Me with
your thanksgiving, let the world know what they are missing!
Colossians 3:16
Let the words of Christ, in all their richness,
live in your hearts
and make you wise. Use His words to teach and counsel each
other.
Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God
with thankful hearts. (NLT)
I will turn
their mourning into joy.
I will comfort them and
exchange their sorrow for rejoicing.
(Jeremiah 31:13)
