Hope in Christ
Revelation 7:16-17
“They
will never again be hungry or thirsty; and they will never
be
scorched by the heat of the sun. For the
Lamb on the throne
will
be their Shepherd. He will lead them to
springs of life-giving
water. And God will wipe away every tear from their
eyes.” (NLT)
There
is no better promise than these prophetic words spoken by the risen Jesus to
the apostle John while he was a prisoner exiled on the island of Patmos. There is nothing in this world that can offer
us this kind of hope for the future, because King Jesus will return in glory to judge and rule His Kingdom on earth
forever. It is our God-given nature to
look ahead and hope for better days, especially for those of us who find
ourselves struggling just to keep our heads above water. But unfortunately, there are those who are
experiencing the better days of prosperity now, which leaves them addicted to
the pleasures of this sinful world and fighting to get more before they
die. And in this fallen state of
immediate pleasure, these misguided people will almost always end up wondering
if their pleasure is all there is to this very short life that ends in death
and nothing else.
It was
not until I understood just how fleeting this worldly life is without Jesus
that I realized how my lifestyle was nothing more than a nightmare that had no
end. But now I know and believe in the
Truth of God’s Word—the promise of a new and better life and the hope for many
wonderful future days that can neither be taken away or ever end. The hope that our Lord God, Christ Jesus, has
been promising throughout the ages, has changed my life of hopelessness, doubt,
and meaningless despair into a life of joy filled truth with eternal
purpose. The world now has the Good News that saves, my friends. Believe and trust in His Promise of eternal
life, because Jesus came to give us life, not to take it away.
A
Whisper of Hope
My
Promise of Peace and Joy…is yours, My child; Promises that you can build a
good life on. I purchased this promise
for you with My blood and by suffering beyond anything that you can
imagine. You receive this promised gift
by trusting and believing in Me.
John 6:35
And
Jesus said to them, “I am the Bread of Life.
He
who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he
who
believes in Me shall never thirst.”
(NKJ)
The Lord is my Shepherd, I have all that I need.
(Psalm 23:1)
