Our Protector
Psalm 125:2
Just
as the mountains surround and protect Jerusalem,
so
the LORD surrounds and protects His people, both
now
and forever. (NLT)
When
we entrust our lives to God, He never lets our circumstances or our temptations
become so great that we cannot endure or overcome them. Living in this fallen world will never be
free from pain suffering, heart break, sorrow, confusion, deception, fear, or
doubt, but by having the faith to trust that our awesome God is who He says He
is, and that He will do what He says He will do, we become His protected
children. Persistent perseverance of
faith is what defines us as His children.
The spiritual discipline we learn to develop in the midst of all the
challenges that we face daily is priceless.
This discipline, not only strengthens our faith and courage, but it also
plays an important role in shaping our moral and spiritual character. Temptations and trials are necessary in order
for us to develop and live by the godly characteristics that were given to us
by our Lord God, Jesus Christ.
So be encouraged and find comfort, my
friends, in knowing that our Savior left His Home in Heaven to endure the same
kind of hardships and temptations that we all must face in this difficult and
evil world. Jesus did this to, not only
to save us, but to teach us how to life a solid godly life. Our Lord courageously set an excellent
example for us to live by—one of endurance and perseverance in the face of
persecution. God will never allow
anything in the lives of His children that they cannot deal with. We have a Sovereign Savior we can fully trust
to be our everlasting Protector.
A
Whisper of Hope
Rely
on Me, dear child…to be both your Guide and Protector. It is through your trials that I am able to
build a godly character in you. I will equip you with everything you need in
order to persevere and win the battles against the evil forces that want to
enslave you and then destroy you. You
cannot do it alone. With Me, you will
travel your life-journey safely in the shadow of My wings.
When your endurance
is fully developed,
you will be strong in
character
and ready for anything.
(James 1:4)
