In His Grip
Numbers 14:9
Do not rebel
against the LORD, and don’t
be afraid of
the people of the land. (NLT)
Rebelling against God is to
sin against His holy ways. We are living in rebellion whenever we ignore God
and live anyway we want. But God is always with those who submit to His Authority.
He is always there ready to help and guide us through this difficult life. We
can trust our Creator and Savior, because He had a Plan to save us from our
rebellion before He created us. The Lord commands us to be holy, but we cannot
because our sinful cravings are stronger than our fallen wills. Our Holy God
came to us as a man of flesh and blood to live a sinless life so He could
become the final Sacrificial Lamb of God, taking away the sins of the world. The
righteousness of Jesus is now our own righteous-ness, if we so desire. When we
accept the death and resurrection of Jesus as our own, we become a new
creation, clothed in perfection and justified by the blood of Jesus.
When you are one with the
Savior, you need never fear anything or anyone again, because Jesus has
defeated the worst and most dangerous enemies you have (sin and death). Your
Savior has set you free from the evil power of sin and fearing the unknown. The
evil powers of darkness render helpless against the holiness of God that is
yours and nothing can take you away from God's mighty grip. One day all of the evil and darkness will be
removed from this world, but until that day, my friend, walk with Christ Jesus
and fear no one but the Author and Finisher of Life—who is your Protector as
well.
A
Whisper of Hope
You will live
in peace, dear child…when you live in Me. Do not turn away in rebellion, for you cannot fight and defeat the
Enemy alone. When you do you lose. You must depend on Me, instead of foolishly
going your own way. Run into My arms
and be saved!
2 Corinthians 1:9-10
In fact, we
expected to die. But as a result, we
learned not to rely on ourselves,
but on God who
can raise the dead. And He did deliver
us from mortal danger.
And we are
confident that He will continue to deliver us.
(NLT)
But if you keep
turning away and rebelling,
you will be destroyed by your enemies.
(Isaiah 1:20)
