                    The Shepherd's Call
1 Peter 2:24-25
He personally carried away our sins in His own body
on the cross so we can be dead to sin and live for what
is right. You have been healed by His wounds! Once
you were wandering like lost sheep. But now you have
turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.  (NLT)

Most people walk in the darkness of this fallen world and drift far away from their Creator. I spent most of my life wandering in this darkness; dazed, confused, and desperately searching for anything that would make some sense in this world that really made no sense. We are born into a realm of darkness that we cannot escape on our own, nor can we see what it's like on the other side.  So the Good Shepherd, Lord Jesus Christ, left the Glory of Heaven to shine His Light upon this dark and dying world. Jesus also came to save the people of this fallen world from the final wrath of God and eternal damnation. Christ Jesus' meager entry and His glorious departure brought the Hope of Salvation for everyone.  He freely surrendered His life and selflessly shed His blood as the final sacrificial Lamb of God.  The Lord suffered excruciating pain and died a horrible death nailed to a wooden cross, which paid the full redemptive price for our sins and condemnation.
This incredible gift from our merciful God is a gift for everyone who will accept it and embrace it.  We cannot save ourselves, so God did it for us.  Jesus was the only One who could pay the price that was due for the sins of the world.  The Good News tells us that we no longer have an excuse to stumble blindly through the darkness of this wicked world, searching for hope and finding none.  Be courageous and humble, my friend, surrender to the Lord—the Shepherd of your soul, because Jesus is the only One who can save you from your sins, heal the wounds they inflict, and then safely bring you Home.  You can faithfully trust the Good Shepherd, because the journey Home is not an easy one, but when you follow the Shepherd you are following the Living God.

                                        A Whisper of Hope
Be silent, My child...and listen to My calling, so I can save your soul and take you Home.   The world is a dark place, but the Truth will light your Way and lead you out.

1 Corinthians 2:12
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world,
but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know
the things that have been freely given to us by God.  (NKJ)

Be still and know that I am God.
                                        (Psalm 46:10)
