The Way Home

Ezekiel 34:31

“You are My flock, the flock of My pasture.

You are men, and I am your God, says the

Lord God.”  (NKJ)

     From the very moment God created Adam and Eve, He has always been with us.  He has not left us entirely to our own demise, and He graciously sent a Savior to rescue us from our sin.  And from the time that the Lord Jesus, the Good Shepherd, began His ministry on earth, He has been diligent in His search and rescue, gathering the lost into His loving arms, healing the deadly wounds, comforting the hopeless hearts, and then leads them safely Home. The Lord sees clearly through the darkness that we can so easily get ourselves lost in and He knows how weak and helpless we are without Him.  He knows that we meander in our brokenness, while we sink deeper into a darkness that devours our souls.  And this world is filled with false shepherds, speaking false hope and deadly lies that are leading the lost into a grave of eternal darkness.  There are voices of pride that tells us we are our own shepherds and can find our own way Home—though many have tried and all have failed.  There are voices telling us there is no God, no right or wrong, and that this life is all there is.  The airways of this world are filled with smooth sounding voices that promise the riches of the world when we follow its ways.  We hear the voices of defeat speaking in our heads, gloating over our failures and telling us we are too lost to be found, too wounded to be healed, and too far gone to be saved. 

     But amidst all these satanic voices, is a Still Small Voice that stands apart from all the rest; One Mighty Voice that whispers nothing but the Truth.  And the Voice is that of our Lord God and Savior, Christ Jesus, the only Good Shepherd and the only Way out of the darkness that is eating us alive.  Because the barrier between God and man has been removed by the sacrificial death of His Son, we are no longer isolated from the Presence of God.  And it is because of this onetime, selfless act of love and sacrifice that we are able to reconnect with God and receive the Holy Spirit, who comes to live in those of the Shepherd’s flock—whose Voice is Faithful and True.  If you are lost and live in fear for your life, you can trust the Good Shepherd to be the Lord of your life—the One True Voice you can recognize and trust.  For with each one He finds, He washes them clean, heals their wounds, comforts their hearts, and then carries them Home.  There is no greater Shepherd, nor is there a Voice more calming.  He is your Good Shepherd and Healer, your Protector and Comforter, and everything good

in between.  There is only One Savior and only One God, my friend, and it is only through Him that you will find your Way Home.

                                                                    

                                         A Whisper of Hope

When I call you out of darkness…I will call you by name and you will know My Voice.  The world promises much, but nothing you can keep.  I promise you life and a safe journey Home.  The way of the world leads only to Hell, but the Way of My Voice leads into the glory of Heaven and eternal life.  

John 10:14-15

“I am the Good Shepherd; I know My own sheep,

and they know Me, just as My Father knows Me
