“He Watches”
Psalm
16:1
Preserve me, O God,
for in You I put my trust.
(NKJ)
Even
though Jesus Christ was fully God clothed in human flesh, He did not rely on
His sovereign power while He lived on the earth. Instead, He prayed to the Father in Heaven
and followed the Father’s will. God has
been called “the Watcher of Men” because He sees all things at all times and He
pays special attention to His children, which He preserves in Christ Jesus—He
protects and provides everything we need to live a godly life. Even though our Lord Jesus left the glory of
Heaven to save the world, He kept His focus on God's will, as we should all
do. And just as Jesus cried out to the
Father in His time of need, so too, should we cry out to our Redeemer, the Holy
One of Israel, to safely watch over us until it's time for us to go Home. If Jesus, who was fully divine, looked
outside of Himself, how much more should we do the same as flawed, sinful
people who cannot even begin to protect or save ourselves from the powers of
darkness that rule this world?
Oh,
how we should fully trust in our Omnipotent Protector with an unwavering faith
and a heart filled with thanksgiving.
Our Father in Heaven is indeed, graciously watching over all those in
need of His divine intervention. And
when anyone, sincerely declares Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and cry
out for His mercy and grace and forgiveness, they can be sure, with the utmost
confidence, that their cry will be heard and their needs will be met in God’s
perfect timing. And as our Savior prayed
to the Father which art in Heaven, we should follow suit and pray to Him as
well. And just as Jesus conquered sin
and death, we too, will become conquerors through Him. When you are being ravaged by the storms of
life, dear friends, cry out to the Lord God for resolve and say: “I put my
trust in You alone, O Great and Mighty God,” and you will gain an indescribable
heavenly peace as you wait quietly and confidently for His perfect help to
come. And when it comes it may or may
not be the kind of help you think you need, but whatever God does, it will be
perfect for you!
A
Whisper of Hope
Trust in the
Father, dear child…for when you do, He will gladly help you. Whenever you put your confidence in the Me,
the Living God, you will find peace and resolve, for I am always watching over
you.
Jeremiah
23:23
“Am I a God who is only in one place?” asks the LORD.
“Do they think I cannot see what they are doing? Can anyone hide from Me?
Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?” asks the LORD. (NLT)
For
the LORD hears the cries of His needy ones.
(Psalm 69:33)
