                                     Trusting God
Jeremiah 39:18
“For I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall
by the sword; but your life shall be as a prize to you,
because you have put your trust in me,” says the LORD.” (NKJ)

     It was not easy for me to learn how to trust God with my life, because after years of trusting the world and others, I was quite leery in the trust department, especially when I could not see or touch the One I was trusting.  When the Lord rescued me from my self-destructive lifestyle, I was numbing the pain of the past and the hopelessness of the future.  My living apart from God and in the world, not only made me skeptical and wary of people, but it also caused a deep sadness that was dragging me down into the darkness. For me to learn how to trust the God that I thought dealt me a crummy hand, I had to believe that I truly mattered to Him and that He was not mean and out to do me in. I also had to earnestly believe His Word was the Absolute Truth and He had a meaningful purpose for me.  I had to learn how to live God's Way rather than my old misguided ways and that of the world’s.
     The holy quest that God calls us on is a difficult road to follow, because the righteous standards that He calls us to live by go against everything this fallen world stands for and teaches us; it's a war for our hearts, minds, and eternal souls—a war against the most powerful Enemy of God; a dangerous foe we cannot see.  But the news is good, because Jesus has already won the war for us.  The not so good news is there are still many difficult battles to come and many hard lessons to be learned.  And even though our old ways and sinful habits are difficult to change, we have the Lord with whom all things are possible.  For encouragement when the battle is tough, I look back on my miserable life without the Lord and compare it to my present life with the Lord and the difference is totally amazing; like night and day!
                                         A Whisper of Hope
Trusting Me, dear one…to guide your life-journey is not always an enjoyable adventure, but the destination is.  You must learn from your mistakes, because then, it will become much clearer to you that My Way is not only the best way, but it is also the Only Way.  So, let not your heart be troubled, for you are precious to Me and I would never lead you astray.

2 Samuel 22:2-4
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
The God of my strength, in Him I will trust.  (NKJ)

          “With men this is impossible,
    but with God all things are possible.”
                     (Matthew 19:26)
