“Rocky Road”
Isaiah 48:17
The LORD your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel,
says:
“I am the
LORD your God, who teaches you what is good
and leads you along the paths you should
follow.” (NLT)
We find
comfort in the fact that God’s Word will never lead anyone astray. His Word is the absolute Truth and the Final
Authority—for the Creator cannot be otherwise, for if He were anything less, He
would not be God. We can trust our
Redeemer to show us the Way that leads to righteous living, when we surrender
to His will and wait on Him to be our Teacher and Guide and our Shepherd and
Savior. The Lord tells us: “I will be
your God throughout your lifetime—until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you” (Isaiah
46:4).
Our
Lord God and Savior deserves our every thanks and praise for His abundant mercy
and amazing grace, but most importantly, for His unconditional love and total
forgiveness. The unconditional love of
God never changes even when we reject Him, ignore Him, and rebel against
Him. Our goodness cannot increase God’s
love for us, nor can our sinfulness diminish it. Our steadfast faith does not earn His love
anymore than our stupidity jeopardizes it.
He does not love us less if we fail, nor does He love us more when we
succeed. God’s love is not a human
emotional kind of love, because it's not dependent on us. When you let God reign over your life, my
friend, allowing Him to direct the paths of your life-journey, you will
discover that His Way is never the easy way, but the end results will be well
worth the rocky road you travel on through this difficult life of calamity.
A
Whisper of Hope
Find
comfort, dear child…in knowing Me, for My peace is so unlike the
world's peace. By following My Perfect
Plan, I will change the way you think and feel.
I will prepare you for the road ahead and beyond. When you trust in Me, you will learn how to
overcome the Enemy and the lies of this fallen world. I will guide you away
from the smooth paths of pleasure and onto the rocky road that leads to your
redemption and eternal life.
1 Timothy 4:8
Physical training is good, but training for
godliness
is much better, promising benefits in this life and
in
the life to come. (NLT)
Lead Me in Your truth and teach me,
for You are the God of
my salvation.
(Psalm 25:5)
