Down and Out
Psalm
119:144
Your decrees
are always fair;
help me to understand them, that I may live.
I pray with
all my heart; answer me LORD!
I will obey Your principles. (NLT)
It is not wise to disobey
the Lord our God and Creator, because the consequences of unrepentant
disobedience is eternal death, forever separated from God and His
goodness. For most of us, this fallen
world shapes our views about right and wrong and we have a difficult time
understanding God's holy ways and the standards He commands us to live by. But once we begin to know who our God is, why
He created us, and why we should live the way He designed us to live,
everything about this life becomes a bit clearer. Many of us come to the Lord desperate for the
Truth, because the world's truth leaves us empty and with many questions that
cannot be answered. Those who are living
the world's way have been deceived by the god of this world; the Prince of
Darkness. The world is an evil place
because it is ruled by the devil who has twisted and reshaped God's truth to fit
his own agenda, which is to destroy God's creation.
If you think that God's Way
is old fashion, too righteous, and a fun destroyer, then your future is rather
bleak and very dark. You have been
fooled by the devil and his false ways and have become a slave to sin and
darkness. But you are not alone, for
most people lose their way and never recover, who one day wake up in a pit in
Hell. Don't follow the world and lose
your eternal soul. Instead, discard your
old sinful life and let Christ Jesus put His robe of righteousness on you and
live forever. It is easier to take the
path of least resistance, which looks to be good all the way around, but in reality,
it is a well disguised path that leads you nowhere but down and out.
A
Whisper of Hope
With Me in
your corner, dear child...you may go down, but not for the full count. For
only I have the power to get you back on your feet and on solid ground, so you
can win the prize of eternal life with Me. Although the devil is clever, He is
no match for my infinite knowledge and power.
Isaiah 41:10
Don’t be
afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged,
for I am your
God. I will strengthen you and help you. I
will hold you
up with my victorious right hand (NLT)
Have mercy on me, O God...
Purify me from my sin...
For I was born a
sinner.
Psalm 51:1, 2, 3
