In God We Trust
Jeremiah 17:7
“Blessed
is the man who trusts in the
LORD,
and whose hope is in the LORD.” (NKJ)
The
truth of these words will not hit home until you realize the impact that the
Lord has had on your life. His unconditional love, and the forgiveness and
salvation that He paid for with His life’s blood, hanging naked on a piece of
dead tree at the hands of the men He created and was dying for is indeed a home
run out of the park. These words are
especially encouraging for us because we usually learn the hard way by trusting
this fallen world and our own human efforts for the hope that only God can
give. For those who don't trust in the
Lord, it can be rather frustrating, often discouraging, and many times quite
devastating, because they can see clearly the failed results in the world
around them. God’s blessings come in
many different shapes and sizes and are all geared to bring His Plan for man
into completion. But to whomever the
blessings are given, we can be sure that they are all given according to the perfect
will of God. And in like manner, the
same can be said about the discipline of God, for He allows us the free will to
choose the world's way or His Way and lets us suffer the consequences for good
of His Kingdom.
Like
most people, I learned that living apart from God, relying on my own abilities
and strength, and trusting the world to satisfy the desires of my heart was not
only a lie and a poor decision, but it also failed me miserably. And in my quest to satisfy the hungers of my
soul, I discover that I could never work hard enough, say enough, do enough, or
pay enough to fill the emptiness, that unbeknownst to me, only God could fill.
And believe me, my friend, I suffered the dire consequences of my choices. When we travel through this difficult
life-journey in the Light of God’s Truth, the blessings we receive will always
be more than enough to keep moving us forward in faith that our Savior will get
us safely Home with the hope of God as our peace. God has put eternity in the hearts of all
peoples and only the His gift of salvation can fulfill your desires and give
you eternal hope.
A
Whisper of Hope
My Words are
True, child...and so too are My promises. I
Am your only Hope for eternal Life. You
may not think that living forever is appealing because of this fallen world,
but the eternity I give you is perfect.
Trust not in yourself or this world, for both are broken.
Ecclesiastes 3:11
God has made
everything beautiful for its own time.
He has
planted
eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot
see the whole
scope of God’s work from beginning to end.
(NLT)
It
is better to trust in the LORD than
to put confidence in man.
(Psalm 118:8)
