Renewed”
2 Corinthians 4:16-17
That is why we
never give up. Though our bodies are
dying, our spirits
are being
renewed every day. For our present troubles are quite small
and won’t last
very long. Yet they produce for us an
immeasurable
great glory
that will last forever! (NLT)
When people turn their
lives over to the care and control of the Lord Jesus Christ, there are two
things going on in unison that are important to understand. On the one hand; our physical bodies will
continue to age with time, wear out, and will eventually die. And while this natural aging process is
taking place, the stress of living in a broken world will often quicken that
process. Most people who still have
their youth don’t spend a lot of time thinking about growing old because life
is new, filled with excitement, and they are energized by it. But as their bodies begin to break down and
aging becomes more of a reality, the final countdown begins to weigh a bit
heavier on their hearts. On the other
hand; as this aging process is moving forward, people who are Christians
continually draw inner strength from the power of the Living God that gives us
new life by the renewing of our spirits; the heart and soul of our eternal life
in Christ Jesus.
As Christians, we must live
in a fallen world that hates the very name of Jesus and we are attacked for our
faith no matter who we are or where we live.
Some Christians are physically assaulted, imprisoned, and even
killed. We are sometimes denied an
opportunity to better our lives or fired from our jobs. We are slandered verbally by hate speech
through TV, radio, and the Internet. We
are sued, taken to court and deemed as bigots, because when you belong to
Christ, you become an enemy of a world that is ruled by the Prince of
Darkness. People who are not living in
the Light of Christ Jesus are living in the darkness of the evil one and they
deny God, eternal damnation, and Hell.
But those who belong to God are living in the Light of His glory and can
be renewed every day to persevere this godless world that hates God,
righteousness, and moral behavior.
A Whisper of Hope
Life in Me,
dear child…has no end. This world has
never been kind, nor will it ever be a friendly place to live. But the short time of hardship that you
suffer now does not compare to the blessings that are yours later. Be glad, for the hardship and pain are not in
vain when you live in Me.
John 11:25
Jesus told
her, “I am the Resurrection and the Life.
Those who
believe in me, even though they die like
everyone else,
will live again. They are given eternal
life for
believing in Me and will never perish.
(NLT)
Create in me a new heart, O God.
Renew a right spirit within me.
(Psalm
51:10)
