Pure Purpose
Psalm 116:12
What can I offer
the LORD
for all He has done for me? (NLT)
There was a time, not so
long ago, when all I could offer the LORD was nothing but a broken down shell
of a man with an awful distaste for living.
I disliked life, hated myself, and was tired of people. I was hopelessly lost in darkness and
slithering down the road of destruction that had but one eternal destination;
death and hell. Even though I tried to
do what I thought was right, I found myself doing what I knew was wrong. I wanted to live a good life, but I didn't
know how. A true and meaningful purpose
for life was always an unsolved mystery for me, for life was nothing but a lot
of pain and heartache and then you die.
But somewhere deep inside my heart I wanted to believe there was a
special purpose for our existence; that my life was no accident. I had to know that my life mattered and had a
purpose that was greater than myself or this dying world. Although I believed in the God of creation,
I had no idea who He was or why He allowed this miserable life to
continue.
Although God had given me
many different opportunities to get to know Him and learn the truth, my heart
was hard, and my sin was deep. But at
just the right time and in just the right way, Jesus came into my life and not
only saved me from dying in my sin, but removed the blinders from my eyes so I
could get a clearer picture of the world around me; a revelation that changed
the direction of my life-journey forever.
The Lord gave me vision when I had none.
He opened my mind that had long been shut. He softened my heart that was hard as a
rock. He blessed me with hope that I
never had. He replaced my foolish wisdom
with His godly wisdom, so He could use me in His Great Plan for man. And for the first time, I found value in
living, a wonderful purpose greater than myself, and I could now offer God
something of value! He set me free from
the power of darkness and unlocked the mysteries of life. Lord Jesus gave me a new life that will
never end, and He can do the same for anyone, because Christ Jesus is the
Savior of the World. What the Lord gives
us is a true reason for living and a Heavenly mission with a pure purpose.
A
Whisper of Hope
Your life,
dear child…no matter how hard life may be, it is a precious gift from Me. For without this life there can be no eternal
life. Receive this gift with a thankful
heart and live in the ways I have given you, for when you do, you will be
living for Me. I gave you My life—now
give Me yours.
Acts 17:24-25
He is the God
who made the world and everything in it.
Since He is
Lord of Heaven and earth, He doesn’t live in
man-made
temples, and human hands can’t serve His
needs—for He
has no needs. He Himself gives life and
breath to
everything, and He satisfies every need there is. (NLT)
Give your bodies to God.
Let them be a living and holy sacrifice.
(Romans 12:1)
