Saving Power

Psalm 60:11

Oh, please help us against our enemies,

   for all human help is useless.  (NLT)

     There comes a time in almost every human life when failure or defeat, or sometimes even death seems to be winning the battle—when the odds of victory are slim at best.  It's during these private moments of quiet desperation that many deflated souls turn the Living God; the only Hope there is.  Our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, is the only One with the power to radically change any circumstance, no matter how impossible it seems—He is the only One who can do the impossible.  Our fallen human abilities are not only very limited and short sighted, but are usually faulty as well.   Whereas our Savior's abilities are unlimited, knows all future things, and is right 100% of the time.  This world is beyond our control, and our survival is an everyday struggle, especially when it comes to the attacks from our most dangerous Adversary, the devil.  Whether it is physical or spiritual in nature, the battles of life will continue to rage on until the end of time.  And if we are to be victorious against the world and Satan, we must tap into the Saving Power of God, because He is our victory. 

      But in order for us to claim our victory, we must believe that God is completely sovereign, in control of every circumstance, and that He is personally involved in the lives of His people.  No human life is too insignificant for God's help, nor is it too broken for God to fix.  And for those of us who know their Creator and call Him Father, we know He is always with us, providing and protecting; confident that our eternal lives are safely in His hands.  The most difficult and enduring battles that confront us are not the battles for our short physical lives in this fallen world, but it's the spiritual warfare for our hearts, minds and souls—battles for our eternal lives.  The evil powers of Satan are too much for us without the full armor of God.  You cannot claim the victory that the Lord personally paid for apart from His saving Power and the grace of God. 

                                         A Whisper of Hope

There is much evil, dear child…that you are not even aware of that is deadly to your soul.  The world will tempt you and bribe you and even force you to follow its dark ways, but don’t try to fight it on your own, for you will lose.  Instead, put on My armor and let Me win the battles for you.  

2 Corinthians 10:3-4
