“Stand by Me”
Psalm 62:5-6
I wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him.
He alone is my Rock and my salvation, my Fortress
where I will not be shaken. (NLT)
Because we are a fallen
people, it's a struggle for many of us to wait quietly for God; to be patient
and confident that the Lord is both willing and able to help, especially when
we are on the verge of giving up. As
finite human beings we are limited to what we can accomplish, but not so with
God, because He has no limits. Many
times we can find ourselves helpless against the circumstances of this fallen
world, and without God’s power and grace we succumb to the pressure and want to
just give up. But with God's help and
our steadfast faith that God is God, we gain the courage and strength to wait
patiently for God's good and perfect will to be done. To have this kind of faith does not come
naturally nor does it happen overnight, because it is our human nature to be
leery of trusting anyone, especially One that we cannot see, touch, or audibly
hear.
The way we grow in our
faith and trust in the Lord is by getting to know who He is and what He can do.
And the way we do this is by reading the living Word of God and asking the Holy
Spirit to reveal its Truth. When you
learn and understand the absolute Truth, you will begin to believe in the
sovereign power that God has over creation; that the Lord our God and Savior is
in charge and directing the events of man to complete His redemptive plan.
And His plans are both incredible and out of this world—plans for a
perfect future—plans that have no end.
When you build your life on God, the solid Rock of our foundation, you
will systemically grow in your faith to trust the Lord with all things,
especially during the raging storms of this unpredictable life!
A
Whisper of Hope
Stand
by Me…My child, for I Am the only Solid Rock on which to build your
life. A Place of protection; a Safe
Haven from this savaged world that wants to kill and destroy you. When you stand by Me, I will direct your
life-journey and lead you in all Truth.
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the
LORD.
“They are plans for good and not for disaster, to
give
you a future and a hope.” (NLT)
Wait for the Lord,
and He will save you.
(Proverbs 20:22)
