Safe Haven
Matthew
7:21
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall
enter the Kingdom
of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father
in Heaven.” (NKJ)
We
should never allow ourselves to become so overly comfortable in our salvation
that we begin to compromise our faith and take our focus away from the One who
has so graciously given us the gift of eternal life. When we surrender our will
to the Lord God, He begins to reveal the truth about this misguided world and
how easy it is to be duped into believing the lies of Satan—lies that dominate
the world around us—lies that will ruin one’s life in a heartbeat. We know through God’s Word that every person
is born with a sinful nature and because of this, we always fall short of God’s
standard. So no matter who we are or how
righteous or good we consider ourselves to be, we must remain alert at all
times, keeping our sinful nature in check and looking for the inevitable
attacks of the devil, who is always on the prowl looking for someone to deceive
and destroy.
Sadly,
there are many who call themselves Christians who pick and choose the kind of
God they want in Christ Jesus, so they can continue to enjoy the things of this
world that gives them pleasure and temporarily satisfies their cravings to sin.
The Lord wants us to find pleasure in the many things He has created, but the
hands of Satan perverts them to use us against God. It is for this very reason my, dear friends,
that we must encourage and pray for one another to remain focused on God’s
will, to read and study God’s Word, and to pray for God’s strength and
wisdom. Because the more we learn and
understand God’s plan, the better equipped we become in winning the battles for
our hearts and minds, and securing our place in Heaven. God will not invade the inner sanctions of
your soul and force you to follow His will, but when you surrender your sinful
ways into His mighty hands, you can be sure that the Author of Life will give
you safe haven during this difficult and dangerous life-journey. There are indeed many ways and many gods you
can choose in this dark and troubling world, but there is only One Way and only
One God who has both the resources and the power to get you Home safely where
you belong.
A
Whisper of Hope
I
Am, dear child…the only One who offers you safe haven in this world that plots your
death and destruction. There is only one
thing that can take you away from Me, and that is; dying in your sin. So don’t believe the lies of Satan or follow
other gods. Instead, make Me your only God and I promise you a safe and
rewarding journey Home.
1 Peter 5:8
Be
sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the Devil
walks
about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (NKJ)
Grow
in the grace and knowledge of our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
(2 Peter 5:18)
