Give it Up
1 John 1:8-9
If we say we
have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves
and refusing
to accept the Truth. But if we confess our
sins to Him, He
is faithful and just to forgive us and to
cleanse us
from every wrong. (NLT)
Everyone but Jesus is born
into this world with a sinful nature, which is simply our rebellious nature to
disobey God and His righteous will for our lives. Most of us tend to either ignore the Creator
of life altogether or we simply deny His authority over our lives and carve out
an existence of our own liking, disregarding most of God’s laws. And as sinful
people who are puffed up with selfish pride, we quite often become so consumed
with our own pleasure seeking that we forget about God all together. We tend to
follow our own dark misguided ways that go against the holiness of God and if
gone unchecked, will pull us deep into the darkness of this wicked world unaware
of the dire consequences. So for most of us, we eventually find ourselves so
lost in the darkness that we become discouraged, confused, hopeless, guilt ridden,
ashamed, and depressed. And it was in
this lost state that I found myself (like many others) looking forward to the
end of my story. But there is a
wonderful Way to escape the darkness before your story ends, because if you
don't find the Way out, you will find yourself trapped in a darkness that never
ends.
To start your journey out
of the darkness, you must first acknowledge your sinful ways and bring them to
the Savior, Christ Jesus. For only God
can forgive your sins and only His blood can cleanse you from all
unrighteousness. Only Jesus can deliver us from our hell bound journey and give
us a new eternal life in Him. It was an
awesome feeling to unload the things I did and thought about in the darkness of
this world—a lost and lonely life that rewarded me with a lot of guilt and
shame, and a lot of sorrow and pain that would not go away. To find the Way out
of the darkness and be freed from the bondage of sin and the fear of death, you
must come boldly to the throne of our gracious God and Savior and bring all
your sins with you, where He will forgive, forget and cleanse you white as
snow.
A
Whisper of Hope
Come
to Me, dear child…so I can lighten your load and give you
rest. For there is nothing that I cannot
handle, nor is there anything I cannot not forgive, for I AM God, the final
Judge Advocate. I will remember your
sins no more, and shield you under the shadow of My wings.
Colossians 3:5
So
put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you.
Don’t
be greedy for the good things of this life, for that is idolatry. (NLT)
Give your burdens
to the Lord, and He
will take care of you.
(Psalm
55:22)
