                                      God's Gift
Mark 7:15
“You are not defiled by what you eat;
you are defiled by what you say and do.”  (NLT)

     Under the new covenant between God and man, we are saved by grace through faith in the good works of our Lord God and Savior, Jesus Christ. We, nor the Jewish people no longer have to live under the old law of the Mosaic covenant that God gave His people, Israel. But God's Law, the Ten Commandments is for all people of this world to obey; no one is exempt.  Although God's Law is good, simple, reasonable, and makes sense, they are not easy to keep because of our inherent sinful nature to rebel against God.  So the Lord sent us a Savior that would put in place the new covenant of grace.
     We are currently living in the Church age, with Jesus Christ as the head and Christians as His Body, so what we eat does not concern our Lord God.  He is more concerned with our thoughts, words, and actions, because it is these things that defile the Body of Christ and if gone unchecked can darken the heart and kill the soul.  We must rely on the Word of God to help us discern what is bad, false, and godless.  We must control what we put into our minds, for it is our fallen human nature to choose things that satisfy the flesh rather than the God given desires of our hearts.  We must understand the world around us so we can better prepare ourselves for the battles to come.  We must keep our focus on God and the things which are eternal in nature.  For when we fill our lives with Him, who bore the sins of the world, we are assured the victory that is in Christ Jesus.  We cannot stand blameless and pure without the blood of Jesus covering our sins, but we can stand strong in our faith that Jesus is Lord and He is the One who keeps us pure and holy.

                                A Whisper of Hope
I came to save you, My child...from the Law that you cannot keep; a law that always condemns.  You should rejoice, for accomplished what you cannot.  My grace is always sufficient, for your good works are not.

1 Corinthians 3:16, 17
Do you not know that you are the temple of God
And that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any-
one defiles the temple of God, God will destroy
him.  For the temple of God is holy.  (NKJ)

     For the wages of sin is death, but the gift
of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
                         (Romans 5:23)
