“Heart of God”
Return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious
and merciful. He is not easily
angered. He is filled
with kindness and is eager not to punish you. (NLT)
As sin flawed people living
in a sin filled world, our vision is clouded, our hearts are hardened, and we
overlook our God and fail to see this wicked world as it really is. We are more prone to focus on the temporary
things that this world falsely promises, rather than on the eternal things that
our God truthfully promises. We are
taught, not only to think that we deserve everything we want, but it is our
right to have it. But when we don't get
it, we are more apt to curse God for our misfortune and blame this unfair life
for not coming through. But God is not
the problem, He is the solution. Our Lord God left the glory of Heaven to become
a man so He could cleanse us of our sins and give us eternal life. The Lord God not only gave us His life's
blood, but He gave us His written Word to explain how this life works, and to
warn us about the pit falls of living without Him. Our gracious and merciful God has shared His
infinite wisdom, not to punish us, but to save us from this sin filled world.
Our God cannot lie, and He
never does anything less than righteous.
God is our Creator, Provider and Protector. He is an eternal Father to His children. He tells us the absolute Truth and we can
stake our eternal lives on it. Our
Sovereign God observes all the goings on in the world and He directs everything
towards His good will and His Plan for man.
Our Lord God and Savior, Jesus Christ, helps us through this difficult
life with His Holy Spirit. He helps the
humble who are poor in spirit and strengthens the righteous who are fighting
for their lives. But for the proud and
arrogant, He usually allows the laws of sowing and reaping to bring them to
their knees in search of the Truth. Our
LORD God is good, honest, and just. He
loves you as if you were His only child.
The Lord desires to share His goodness and glory with you—goodness that
is yours forever if you so desire.
A Whisper of Hope
I desire good things for you, My child...Although I
disapprove of your sin and allow you to feel the pain of its consequences, I do
not like to see you hurt or discouraged.
I want what is best for you in the long run and will continue to watch
over you and do what I can to help you.
Isaiah 44:21, 22
I, the LORD, made you, and I will not forget to help you.
I have swept away your sins like the morning mists. I have
scattered your offenses like the clouds. Oh, return to Me, for
I have paid the price to set you free.
(NLT)
