                    “Soul Shepherd”
 Psalm 100:3
Acknowledge that the LORD is God! He made us,
and we are His.  We are His people, the sheep of His pasture.  (NLT)

     When I think of Jesus I think of the Living God, our Almighty Creator, the King of the Universe, the Savior of the world, and the Good Shepherd of our souls. The Good Shepherd laid down his life for the souls of his flock. They are in His care to protect, heal, comfort, and lead safely Home.  In many ways we are like sheep in the great pasture of God, for our lives depend on Him, and like it or not, we belong to God.  He not only created us, but He paid the ransom that set us free from the power of sin and the eternal death we deserve.  Our Good Shepherd could have thrown in the towel and given up, leaving us unprotected and easy prey for the Enemy.  But the Lord chose to became a man in order to shepherd His people who were hopelessly lost and without direction.  Much like sheep, we, too, tend to wander aimlessly with our heads to the ground, oblivious to the real dangers around us because we are too busy feeding our sinful appetites.  And when we get so focused on our own hungers, we get attacked by soul eating beasts and become soul food for the devil.
     We are a prideful and rebellious people, always going our own ways, believing we are self-made, self-sustaining, and self-sufficient, but we are not.  We need God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit if we are to survive this leg of our dark journey through a world that hates God and everything that belongs to Him.  The Father sent His Son to save the flock from wandering too far into the darkness, where we become easy prey for the soul hungry jaws of Satan.  The Good Shepherd knows how vulnerable and helpless we are without Him.  The Good Shepherd never sleeps, is never surprised, or caught off guard.  He searches, finds, heals our wounds, and saves.  It's a soul saving miracle, my friend, to be found by the Good Shepherd, who carries you out of the darkness and into His marvelous Light.  How glorious it is to be in the arms of God, the Good Shepherd of your soul!

                                      A Whisper of Hope
Remain close to Me, child... because apart from Me you are easy prey for the hungry jaws of soul eating beasts.  Without the Good Shepherd of your soul, you wander without direction and being deceived by the Evil One and forfeiting the life of your soul.

John 10:27-30
Jesus replied, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;
and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; My Father, who has
given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of
the Father’s hand. I and the Father are One.”  (NASB)

                  Once you were wandering like sheep,
        but now you have turned to your Shepherd,
                  the Guardian of your souls.
                               (1 Peter 2:25)
