“Heavenly Minds” 

 Colossians 3:1-2

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your 

sights on the realities of Heaven, where Christ sits at God’s 

right hand in the place of honor and power. Let Heaven fill 

your thoughts.  Do not think only about things down here on 

earth.  (NLT)

     The secular world tells us that Christians are so heavenly minded they are no earthly good.  But in reality this is a lie straight from the mouth of Satan.  It is the heavenly minds of Christ Jesus that have changed the world for the better, giving people a true reason for living and the hope of better things to come.   The Lord has transformed many worldly minds into heavenly ones filled with truth and hope, and a peek into the future so we can be prepared for the inevitable.   Heavenly insight is eternally glorifying, while the world’s insight is eternally damning.  Being heavenly mind is not living in a dream state in order to escape the hard reality of this life, but is learning God's Wisdom and preparing for the eternal life to come.   People who are heavenly minded focus on the eternal things of God and accomplish more good works that benefit this world than those who are not—the ones who are so worldly minded that they are of no heavenly value whatsoever.  The devil has duped the world's minds into believing his many lies and they shoot for the moon, but land in Hell. 

    Our God in Heaven wants us to focus on eternity, believing His Truth, and living like He designed us to live.  Our brief time in this world is but a blink of an eye, but eternity is void of time.   So why chance it?   For the only risk in doing life God’s way is forfeiting a few moments of earthly pleasure now for the heavenly pleasures of eternity later.  We can choose to ignore our Creator and do whatever we want with our lives by enjoying the moment, but the end results are devastating, because when you are worldly minded, you are an enemy of God.  Refuse the devil’s bait and focus on your Savior and Heaven, because it's far better for you and also those around you!

                                            A Whisper of Hope

To be heavenly minded, My child…is eternally good.  The world promises you much, but delivers only death.  Being heavenly minded is not a dream state, but a condition that takes strength and courage to maintain.  Focus on what will be, dear one, not the present moment.

Romans 8:6

For to be carnally minded is death,

but to be spiritually minded is life

 and peace.  (NKJ)

                            If your aim is to enjoy this world, 

                        you can’t be a friend of God.
