“Power Gifts”

 Acts 2:38

Peter replied, “Each of you must turn from your sins

and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus

Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.  Then you will

receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  (NLT)

      The glory of being born anew in Christ Jesus is that no repented sinner is excluded from receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit.  When we humbly bring our broken lives to the foot of the Cross with sorrow-filled hearts, we also receive the gift of forgiveness, and our sin-filled life that was once so vile and evil to our Holy God is cleansed, forever forgotten, and is no longer held against us.  And with these incredible gifts from God, we are able to start our new lives as a new creation, because our old life has died on the Cross and we are born again as the redeemed children of God.  The moment you are forgiven, you will receive the Holy Spirit to help you submit to the ways of the Lord, and to help guide you in transitioning from ungodly living to living a life that is pleasing to God and brings Him glory.  The Holy Spirit helps us understand God's Word, gives us the power to overcome our temptations, protects us when we need it, and teaches us to discern what is true from what is not.  The Holy Spirit gives us everything we need for living a godly life in this ungodly world. 

     This transformation is not an easy one to make, because it goes against the very grain that this fallen world has taught you.  But with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit you will gain the power and wisdom to learn and understand the Truth that the Lord has so graciously share with mankind.   Without the Holy Spirit as your Helper, my friend, this transformation will not go so well, for the human will is weak and our nature is to sin.  The Holy Spirit is not some invisible entity, but is fully God and He is hard at work in our world today, saving lives and changing hearts.  You don’t want to miss out on these life-saving gifts that will change your life forever and bring great joy and glory to God.   Without the power of the Holy Spirit you will remain a slave to sin, with no way to escape.  The only Way to defeat sin and death is by accepting the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus as your own and with the power of the Holy Spirit you will make it safely Home where you belong.

Only in Me, dear child…will you find forgiveness, salvation, and the mightiest power in the universe dwelling within your heart and soul.  With these gifts you will win the battles for your heart and mind and with My power living in you, you will prevail.

Galatians 5:22-23

But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, He will produce

this kind of fruit in us: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, 

goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  Here

 there is no conflict with the law.  (NLT)
