“Faithful and True”
Romans 1:17
This Good News
tells us how God makes us right in His sight.
This is
accomplished
from start to finish by faith. As the
Scriptures say, “It is
through faith
that a righteous person has life.” (NLT)
No matter how good we think
we may be, we can never be good enough to get into Heaven without the blood of
Jesus covering our sins. Everyone must
have faith in the Cross of Christ in order to stand justified on Judgment
Day. But our faith must begin somewhere,
and that beginning is believing that God is real; that He is infinite; that He
is perfect in every way and He is sovereign over all creation; that He is a
living God who deeply loves the people He so carefully creates in His
image. It takes faith to believe that our
infinite God has a plan for every person He creates, and it is by His gracious
favor alone that we are able to carry out His will. It takes faith to believe that the universe
would cease to exist without the power of God's Word holding it in perfect
order so we can live to breathe another day.
But we are a people who take far too many things for granted—who
foolishly put our faith in things that have a very short longevity, because
everything of this world is temporary at best.
Because of our sinful
natures, we are a stubborn and self-centered people, who are filled with
self-gratifying lusts of our carnal flesh even though they carry the death
penalty. We are a flawed people who want
things now, rather than waiting on the Lord and trusting Him. We live in an evil world that is being used
by the devil to create man-made philosophy that deems God’s redemptive plan for
man as foolishness. Satan is the god of
this world and many lost souls have been deceived into believing his convincing
lies that draws them away from the Truth of God. And to be away from the One who sustains and
protects your life is utterly foolish, my friend. The greatest and most reliable hope you have,
is in the Living God. Having faith in
anything other than the eternal Word of Life is not only short sighted and
unwise, but it also saddens the One who created you.
A
Whisper of Hope
Choose wisely,
My child…where you put your faith and hope.
For one leads to a life of eternal joy while the other leads to eternal
misery and darkness. There are two life
or death options that we are all faced with; having faith in the Living God of
the Bible whose promises are faithful and true, or relying on the man-made gods
of Satan that promise much but deliver only death.
Revelation 19:11, 16
Then I saw
Heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there.
And the One
sitting on the horse was named Faithful and True.
For He judges
fairly and then goes to war. On His robe
and thigh
was written
this title: King of kings and Lord of lords.
(NLT)
“I will dwell in them and walk among them.
I will be their God and they shall be My
people.”
(2 Corinthians 6:16)
