“Hope Renewed”
Psalm 51:10
Create in me a
clean heart, O God.
And renew a
steadfast spirit within me. (NKJ)
When I
ponder the word renew, I think of taking something old and making it new. I also think of the New Year’s resolutions
that we make at the beginning of each new year to improve the things about our
old life that aren’t so good. To
experience a renewed life, we must recommit your resolutions each and every
day, rather than just once a year.
Because sin is our nature and we are prone to succumb to it, we must
rely on some One much greater than ourselves, and that some One is the Lord our
God, Jesus Christ. Without the power of
God backing us up our renewal will peter out and we go back to the old ways of
sinning, which makes most of us feel like failures and we kick the can down the
road for another year. But if you want
to get rid of the habits that feed your sinful nature, you must begin with the
transforming of your heart, for it's from the heart that true change really
takes place. And it's only the Lord God
who can transform your calloused heart of stone into a soft heart of flesh that
is filled with compassion and love for others—a heart that truly honors and
glorifies the LORD. Being creatures
compelled by our habits, we must replace the old sinful habits that lead us
into the dark presence of the Devil with new godly habits that lift us up into
the Light of the Living God.
If
it's a renewed heart that you desire, my friend, ask God and He will not only
transform your heart, but He will take you on an unbelievable journey of an
eternal lifetime. This life-transforming
change does not instantly happen overnight, but gradually with steadfast faith
and the daily renewal of your heart, mind, and soul. There are many worldly ways of renewing your
life that may sound great for the time being, but they cannot give you
everlasting life. But when you accept
the transforming ways of the Lord, He will give you a new heart and a new life
that is forever. So join God's Plan and
come to the throne of God’s amazing grace where you will experience the
life-changing transformation that will give you a new heart, a new life, and
renewed hope!
A
Whisper of Hope
Surrender
your hard heart, child…and I will give you a new heart and a new
start. The pull of this wicked world is
much too strong for you to resist without Me.
I did not create you to stand alone; it's not wise to even try, for many
have tried and all have failed.
Galatians 5:17
The
old sinful nature loves to do evil, which is just opposite
from
what the Holy Spirit wants. And the
Spirit gives us
desires
that are opposite from what the sinful nature desires.
These
two forces are constantly fighting each other, and your
choices
are never free from the conflict. (NLT)
For as he
thinks in his heart, so is he.
(Proverbs 23:7)
