                      “Fear and Life”
 Exodus 20:20
“Don’t be afraid”, Moses said, “for God has come
in this way to show you His awesome power.  From
now on, let your fear of Him keep you from sinning!”  (NLT)

The more we discover the incredible amounts of energy that make up our vast universe, the more we should consider and understand the incredible power that our Lord God possesses in order to have created it all and is now holding it all together in perfect unison; which should then, give us a great reason to fear God’s infinite power.  He could squash like a bug with just a mere thought.  With that said, Jesus has revealed that He will unleash the powers of the universe upon this earth and mankind.  But we must also consider Judgment Day and what it will bring if we have no fear of God and live as if He doesn’t even exist.  Fear is a healthy human emotion—one of the many unique characteristics that the Lord has given us so that we could better prepared and protect ourselves from the things that threaten both our physical and spiritual well-being.  Anyone who claims to have no fear is either living in complete denial or they are mentally unstable.  We should use our God-given fear wisely though, because the eternal consequences for how we live our lives are of the utmost importance.
Although God is loving and kind and compassionate and merciful and gracious, He is also Holy and perfectly Just.   Our God has graciously shared with us how and why we should to live by His Law and the consequences for both our obedience and disobedience.  But the world has made God’s justice so irrelevant that our disobedience is now okay, because everyone does it.  People are now being taught that there are no consequences for our behavior beyond this life.  This is not so dear friend, because God’s justice is very real, just as the consequences of our behavior.   For those who refuse to fear God and the final consequences of their disobedience to His Law will live however they please, and oneday God’s wrath will bear down on them like a great ball of fire.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of all true wisdom.  For fearing God and honoring His Way will not only save your own eternal life, but others will see the Light and follow suit.  Fear and life should always co-exist in peace, because it will bring you into the full glory of God.

                                        A Whisper of Hope
Godly fear is wise, child…for it saves lives.  Do not be afraid of Me, but fear the consequences of your sin.  When you deny Me and ignore the Truth there is an eternal price attached to it.  Fearing the eternal consequences of sin is wisdom at its best, for draws you into My saving arms.

Hebrews 12:28-29
Since we are receiving a Kingdom that cannot be destroyed,
let us be thankful and please God by worshiping Him with holy
fear and awe.  For our God is a consuming fire.  (NLT)

Fear of the LORD is the beginning of all wisdom.
                               (Proverbs 9:10)
