                   “Undeserved”
Daniel 9:18
We do not ask because we deserve help,
but because You are so merciful.  (NLT)

Considering the dysfunctional ways of my sinful past, I understand why we don't deserve the Lord's help, nor do we deserve His forgiveness or salvation.  When I surrender my broken life to God, I nailed my sinful life to the Cross of Christ, and the Holy Spirit revealed the truth of what we do and do not deserve.  I learned that without the mercy and grace of our Lord God and Savior, we are nothing but dust, blown away by the wind. Without our Sovereign God guiding our ways and renewing our strength, we stand helpless in our sin and hopeless in our future.  And even though I hate the sin that I put to death, I still sin.  Even after learning what our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ did for me, both on and off the Cross, I still succumb to the sin nature in me.  How incredible it is to have a God that is gracious and merciful and ready to forgive.
Although the power of sin doesn’t have the control it once had over my life, I, like everyone else, will always fall short of God’s holy standards.   We are all born into this world as sinners and we will all leave this world as sinners.  What separates all sinners, is the saving grace of our merciful God and the blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Those who accept God’s gift of forgiveness and the sacrifice of Jesus, His righteousness covers all repentant sins.  Because God is perfect, His mercy, grace, love, and justice is also perfect. God is the Creator.  It is His creation and we are His as well.  God has the right to set the rules that saves us from the eternal destination we deserve.  My eternal life has been spared and I owe it all to the mercy and grace of our Almighty God.  If He had given up on me, I would now be serving out an eternal life sentence in a very hellish place, forever burning in my sin and forever separated from the glory of God and all that is good.

                                 A Whisper of Hope
When I look upon My people…it breaks My heart to see their foolish ways.  I have such pity on those who live in darkness, for I keep calling and calling, hoping that they might hear the Truth and repent of their sinful ways.  I Am Just and Merciful.  I want no one to perish.

Romans 3:26
And He is entirely fair and just in this present time when He declares
sinners to be right in His sight because they believe in Jesus.  (NLT)

I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
                                    (Galatians 2:20)
