“The Foundation”
But God's
Truth stands firm like a foundation stone
with this
inscription: “The Lord knows those who are
His,” and “Those who claim they belong to the
Lord
must turn away
from all wickedness.” (NLT)
We know that God and His
Truth are infinite because He tells us so.
He tells us that He is perfect in every way, that He is perfectly holy
and righteous and cannot tell us anything that is not true. Therefore, when we
know and believe these truths about our Creator and Savior, we can trust that
His Truth is always absolute and never changes.
And if this the way it is, what better foundation is there to build one’s
life on than the Rock of our Salvation, Christ Jesus? The inscriptions found on the foundation
stone (The Rock of Salvation) are found in the Old Testament; Numbers 16:5 and
Isaiah 52:11 and they tell us who the Lord is and what He expects from His
people. God's Word does not change with
the times, my friends, nor does it play favorites. It is solid to the core, it cannot be
destroyed, and we can stake every breath we take on it.
When you truly belong to
your Creator and Savior, Jesus Christ, and trust in the work He did for you by
dying nailed to a piece of wood with rusty spikes, you are trusting the
Cornerstone of True Life. And you can be
confident that the Cornerstone of Life will stand strong and in place during
all the turbulent storms of this life.
You live in a fallen world that has been blindsided by God's most
dangerous Enemy, the devil and you need His help. The Good Shepherd knows His Sheep and they
live in Him, for He is always there to protect and guide them Home. He knows each one by name and He knows them
up close and personal. God's Cornerstone
is strong and unbreakable. The world
builds on many different cornerstones, but they are weak, and will be utterly
destroyed and burned to the ground on the last day. Which would you choose to build your life
upon? A cornerstone of straw and wood,
or the infinite Rock of Salvation?
A Whisper of Hope
Ephesians
2:20-22
We are His
house built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets.
And the
cornerstone is Christ Jesus Himself. We
who believe are carefully
joined
together, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.
Through Him you
Gentiles are
also joined together as part of this dwelling where God lives by
His
Spirit. (NLT)
Come to Christ who is
the Living Cornerstone of
God's Temple.
(1 Peter 2:4)
