“Trust God”
1 Timothy 6:17
Tell those who
are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust
in their
money, which will soon be gone. But their trust should be in
the Living
God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. (NLT)
Everything of this fallen
world is quickly fading away and will one day be replaced when the Lord makes
everything new. Nothing from this evil
world is trustworthy or true. We cannot rely on anyone but our Lord God and
Savior Jesus Christ, for only He can save us from the destruction that is coming
to this fallen world. We cannot take
anything with us from this world when we die, only our faith in the promises of
God. The Lord Jesus did not come into
our world to condemn us or to make us feel good about ourselves, but to save us
from our sins and show us how in need we are of His saving grace. He came to forgive our sins and promise us an
eternal life as it was meant to be. This
promise of living with our God and Savior forever is what gets us through this
difficult life, because this world always lets us down and can only promise
death.
The Almighty God is the
only One we can trust, because all the promises of this dying world are also
dying. The world we are now living in is
temporary at best and it can only produce those things which are also
temporary. And people who love this
temporary world and its riches will eventually be destroyed and replaced with
eternal riches. We were not created to
live a temporary life focused on ourselves.
Rather, we were created as eternal beings who would live glorifying the
God who created us in His image, to live pure and holy lives, and to worship
Him with our praise and thanksgiving.
Don't be sucked into the lies of this evil world, my friend, because if
you do you will be sorry. And do not become
so comfortable in the promises of God that you take your eyes off the prize
that never stops giving.
A Whisper of Hope
You can trust all My Promises, dear child...for they are
not only good in every way, but they are also eternal. I Am the Infinite Lord
of creation and I created you to be eternal.
Therefore, all that I promise you is yours forever.
Hebrews
6:18-19
So God has
given us both His promise and His oath.
These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to
lie. Therefore, we who have fled to Him
for refuge can take new courage, for we can hold on to His promise with
confidence. This confidence is like a
strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.
It leads us through the curtain of Heaven into God's inner
sanctuary. (NLT)
See, God has come to save me,
I will trust in Him
and not be afraid.
(Isaiah 12:2)
