Forgiveness
in Fear
Psalm
130:3-4
LORD, if you kept a record
of our sins,
who, O LORD, could ever survive?
But You offer forgiveness,
that we
might
learn to fear you. (NLT)
What a profound affect
these words of God can have on the life of any hopeless soul who believes they
are too bad to be forgiven. Reverent
fear of God and humble repentance always works in making us right with
God. It took many heart wrenching
failures and almost complete mental and physical destruction before I believed
that God really does forgive our sins, no matter how wrong we think they
are. And His forgiveness is both
complete and final—so much so that everyone who experiences it will stand
blameless before the Lord our God on Judgment Day. By accepting God’s forgiveness for my sinful
rebellion against Him, it opened the eyes of my heart so I could see and learn
the truth about who God is, and what my part was in His amazing eternal Plan
for man. I discovered that to know and
fear the living God is to know the One who holds the destiny of every living
soul in His hands, and this my friends, is the beginning of all true
wisdom.
Our sovereign God takes
delight in forgiving our sins, because His mercy filled forgiveness saves our
lives and gives Him glory. Our Lord God,
Jesus Christ, is the God of forgiveness and it is because of His everlasting
mercies and grace that anyone can find forgiveness and healing. The Almighty God, the Creator of the
universe, does not need us for anything; it is we, His created people, who need
Him for everything. Like the many saints
before me, I am relying on God, not the world, not other people, not man-made
plans or wisdom, and certainly not myself, for I have put my life into the
powerful, saving hands of the Living God.
And this decision is available for any and all who will humble themselves
before the Living God and accept the forgiveness that is freely given in love.
A
Whisper of Hope
Accept My forgiveness, dear child…for when you do I
will show you what it means to “fear” Me, the One who creates and sustains of
all things. Never allow yourself to
become so prideful that you slow down or stop your quest for true wisdom. Nor should you busy yourself in My name in order
to gain My forgiveness, for you can do nothing without Me.
Proverbs 9:10
The fear of
the LORD
is the beginning
of wisdom.
And the
knowledge of the
Holy One
results
in understanding.” (NLT)
Great
is His mercy toward those who fear Him.
(Psalm 103:11)
