Perfectly Just
Malachi
4:1-2
“The day of judgment is coming, burning like a
furnace.
The arrogant and the wicked will be burned up like straw
on
that day. They will be consumed like a tree—roots and
all. But for you who fear My name, the Sun of Righteous-
ness will rise with healing
in His wings. And youwill be free,
leaping with joy like calves let
out to pasture.” (NLT)
To be true followers of the Way, we
Christians must build our lives on every Word of God, believing it is without
error and absolutely true. The Lord not
only gave us His Word to help us understand who He is and to instruct us in the
ways of righteous living, but to also warn us about the consequences of our sin
and rebellion. Having briefly stated
this truth, it would behoove us to take seriously all of the prophesy found in
God’s Word. Knowing the future of God's
Way is not only encouraging those who believe, but it's also warning those who
refuse to believe. The final judgment of
the Lord is imminent for everyone. For those who have made Christ the Hope of
their salvation, they will be judged according to the good they have done, for
all the bad stuff is burned up and forgotten.
But for those who chose to deny the Truth and make the world their god,
or those who believe they are good enough; they will receive full punishment
for their disobedience and pride.
The Lord God left the glory of Heaven to
save us from the damnation of eternal Hell that everyone deserves because of
sin. Christ Jesus not only paid the full
price for our undeserved redemption with His human life, but He was raised into
a perfect glorified body, much like the one we believer's will receive upon
completion of His amazing Plan for man.
Our God is merciful not to give us what we deserve and gracious enough
to give us what we don’t deserve. But we
must also know that our Holy Lord God is perfectly just in everything He says
and does. This is why God took upon
Himself a human body so that He could become the final and perfect sacrificial
Lamb who had to die an unconscionable, excruciating, unwarranted, criminal
death nailed to a wooden cross. God did
this so that we, a sinful, broken people would have the opportunity to be
cleansed and forgiven, so we could to live with Him in Heaven for
eternity. And this, my friends, was
perfectly just for Him to do.
A Whisper of Hope
John 8:12
Jesus said to the people, “I am the Light of the
World.
If you follow Me, you won’t be stumbling through
the
darkness, because you will have the Light that
leads
to life.”
(NLT)
He will bring the people of
the world to judgment.
(Jude
15)
