Glory Gift
1
Peter 1:4
For God has
reserved a priceless inheritance for
His
children. It is kept in Heaven for you,
pure
and undefiled
beyond reach of change and decay. (NLT)
What an incredible promise
this is for all those who have been adopted into God's eternal family. Because
of this promise, all of our sins have been forgiven, we are justified by the
blood of Jesus, and are granted the legal rights to an incredible, everlasting
inheritance. A share in the glory of our
Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ is an amazing gift, one that our finite minds
cannot really grasp the totality of. But
we can fully trust that whatever this undeserved inheritance is, it will be out
of this world and indeed glorious.
Through God's Word we get a partial picture of this inheritance in our
eternal life in the new Heaven and Earth that will replace the old. And this
information is just enough to get our inquiring minds a taste of the wonderful
future to come, and that hope will help us get through the many difficult
circumstances that living in this world brings.
And it also helps us keep motivated to live a godly, righteous life in
the here and now.
Our gracious God tells us
throughout the Scriptures, that He is the only True, Living God, and that we
can fully trust in His every Word and Promise.
When we fully entrust our lives to the LORD God, our Heavenly Father,
there comes a peace of heart and mind of the believer that surpasses anything
this world has to offer, because this world and everything in it is quickly
fading away. We must understand that this
priceless gift of an inheritance is a piece of the glory that is Christ Jesus'
alone, but it is being reserved for God's children as well. If you have embraced and accepted this
incredible gift, honor the King with a righteous life filled with thanksgiving
and praise. If you have not, it would be
wise to look into it while you can, before the offer runs out.
A Whisper of Hope
I came bearing good gifts, dear child...The undeserved
gifts of eternal life and a share in My inheritance. You need not bring anything to the table, but
a sorrow-filled, repentant, and humble heart and your love and praise for your
God and Savior.
Colossians
1:11, 12
May you be
filled with joy, always thanking the Father,
who has
enabled you to share the inheritance that belongs
to God's holy
people, who live in the Light. (NLT)
I want you to realize what a rich and glorious
inheritance He has given to His people.
(Ephesians 1:18)
