Follow the Leader
Acknowledge
that the LORD is God.
He made us and we are His.
We are His
people, the sheep of His
pasture.
(NLT)
The is no better Leader to follow; no
better Shepherd to stay close to than our Lord God and Savior, Jesus Christ. This
passage of Scripture is an awesome truth—one that we should repeat to ourselves
at the beginning of every new day that He gives us. Following the Leader of
life is no game, for this life is the only chance we get to follow the right
Leader. Whether we sing out this truth or whisper it in private, it is pleasing
to God when He hears His people acknowledge Him. He commands us to have no
other gods aside from Him. And for those of us whose only God is the LORD, we
know that God is with us 24/7, watching our backs, guiding our ways, and giving
us everything we need for godly living. And this brings us the peace and
courage to boldly proclaim the only God to the world.
Accepting the Lord as your
Savior will change your life in such an amazing way that both praising and
worshiping Him will come as natural as breathing does. It is far wiser to pick
the Creator and the Author of life to follow than anything He has created,
because the Creator is always the One Greater and Wiser than anything He creates. God is Sovereign and in control of
everything, and when you have the knowledge of who He is, what He has
accomplished and what He promises to do, you gain the confidence and faith that
will get you through this short, difficult life and Home where you belong. Without the Shepherd, my friend, you will
never find your way Home. Humble yourself at the foot of the Jesus’ Cross and
accept His saving sacrifice. For there is no One better, no One mightier, and
no One wiser than the Good Shepherd of our souls, Messiah Jesus.
A Whisper of Hope
I AM LORD, dear child...the only living God and the only One who can lead
you safely Home—the eternal Home that I made for you to live with Me
forever. There are many false shepherds,
many false prophets, and many lies, but there is only One LORD.
Revelation
7:17
For the Lamb
who stands in front of the throne will
be their
Shepherd. He will lead them to the
springs
of living
water. And God will wipe away all their
tears. (NLT)
But those
who trust in idols,
calling them their gods—
they will be turned away in shame.
(Isaiah 42:17)
