Rejoice
Psalm
118:24
This is the day
the LORD
has made.
We will
rejoice and be glad
in
it. (NLT)
Whenever a new day is given
to us, it is because we have a gracious and merciful God. As for the children
of God, we should be glad and rejoice, because we know that the One who holds our
lives in His hands is not yet finished with us in this short life. Our mission
is not yet complete. For those who
ignore God and live as they please, they, too, should rejoice, because God is
giving them another day to change their ways, and be adopted into His Family.
God does this because He puts the highest value on all human beings. Everyone
born into this difficult life should really trust God no matter what their
circumstances may be, because He is the One in charge. There are many reasons to begin each new day
with thanksgiving to God, because without His sovereign control over creation
and without His special love for mankind there would be no reason to rejoice,
no life to enjoy, and absolutely no hope after this life is over.
If you are one of the many
who take this life for granted, or you wake up dreading the day to come, or you
feel like a victim of circumstance and there is no way out, you don't know the
Living God who created you and personally saved you from living this life in
vain. Without the Lord God, Jesus Christ,
you will have no true understanding about life or the purpose for your
existence. Without Jesus you will be
grasping at straws and hoping to get lucky.
And after too many wrong straws drawn, you will simply give up, hoping
the end will really be the end. Living
this difficult life without the hope of Jesus, is not really living at all—no
hope for tomorrow, no hope for the next day, and no hope when this life is
over. Without Jesus, my friend, there is
simply no hope in living or in dying.
A Whisper of Hope
There is reason to rejoice, child...for when you live in Me, your
life will never end and it will only get better. You need not worry about this dangerous world,
because in Me, you are safely in My mighty hands. Be glad that I AM who I say I AM.
Psalm
31:7
I am overcome
with joy
because of Your unfailing love,
for you have
seen my troubles,
and you care about
the anguish
of my soul. (NLT)
Always be full of joy in the Lord. I
say again, rejoice!
(Philippians 4:4)
