                                 Deadly Idols
 Jeremiah 51:18-19
Idols are worthless, they are lies! The time is coming
when they will all be destroyed. But the God of Israel
is no idol. He is the Creator of everything that exists,
including His people, His own special possessions.
The LORD Almighty is His Name.  (NLT)

Anything and everything in this world can be made an idol; something or someone we worship and believe can help us get what we want. Most idols become gods to people.  All idols are man-made and evil in nature, because the devil is behind them all. Many people allow these idols to control them; how they think, act, and live their lives. And sadly, many will take their idols to the grave with them and when the end of time comes, they and their idols will be destroyed forever.
Everything about this world is temporary and when we make an idol from this world our god and depend on it, it's not only a bad idea, but it's a deadly idea as well, because all an idol does, is it separates us from the One who gives us the breath of life and keeps it that way. The LORD God is the only One we should worship, put our hope in, and trust with our lives, because anything else is like playing with fire that will one day burn us up.  God came to save His people, Israel and then the world, and to start His Church, and no mere idol can pull that off! It is foolish, dear friend, to worship anyone but the Lord, because if you do, you will be signing your death warrant to boot.

                                       A Whisper of Hope
Do not trust, dear child...the false idols of this godless world.  For they only deliver eternal destruction.  Listen to the only God there is, for I AM who I  say I AM—the One who created and
saved you from this foolish, wicked world.  Trust Me.

1 Corinthians 8:19, 20, 21
Am I saying that the idols to whom the pagan bring sacrifices are real gods
and that these sacrifices are of some value?  No, not at all.  What I am saying
is that these sacrifices are offered to demons, not to God.  And I don't want any
of you to be partners with demons.  You cannot drink from the cup of the Lord
and from the cup of demons, too.  (NLT)

We all know that an idol is not really a god and that
there is only one God and no other.
                                (1 Corinthians 8:4)
