Close and Safe
Hebrews
3:12
Be careful
then, dear brothers and sisters.
Make sure that
your own hearts are not evil
and
unbelieving, turning you away from the
living
God. (NLT)
Because our fallen world is
filled with all kinds of evil and wickedness, and because we come into this
world with a sinful nature that loves to rebel against God, we soon develop an
evil heart that is world hardened, selfish, prideful, and unbelieving. We become
doubtful, skeptic, and self-reliant. We
begin to think ourselves as a god, judge, and executioner. But all that begins to change when are born
again in Christ Jesus through His death and resurrection. We become a new creation filled with the Holy
Spirit who begins transforming our hearts and minds away from the world and
helps us fend off the power of sin. But
because our transformation cannot be completed while we live in these corruptible
bodies, we must be diligent in our relationship with the Redeemer, so He can
protect our hearts and minds from this evil world that tries to pull us back
into its terrible darkness of sin and disbelief.
We need the power of God
and we need it every day, because our fallen human nature is weak and not
unable to stand on its own. The evil in
our world is gaining more ground and power every day and it's imperative that
Christians cling tightly to Truth of God, who keeps us free from its evil and
the power of sin. If the Lord is calling
you out of the darkness, go my friend, for once you are living in the Light of
God's saving grace, you will be safely lead through the darkness and be transformed
into the person that you were created to be—a child of the Living God. Your life may not be made any easier, but you
can be sure that the Lord is always near, ready to rescue you in your times of
trouble.
A Whisper of Hope
Listen closely, My child...when I call you out of the darkness that is
killing your soul. Sometimes My call is
soft, sometimes it is not, but calling My lost ones is what I do, for you must
follow My Voice so I can save you from the evil powers of darkness that will
drag you down into the pit.
Ephesians
5:16-17
Make the most
of every opportunity for doing good
in these evil
days. Don't act thoughtlessly, but try
to
understand
what the Lord wants you to do. (NLT)
With my whole heart I have sought You;
Oh, let me not wander from Your
commandments!
(Psalm 119:10)
