Believe It
1 John 1:1, 2
The One who
existed from the beginning is the One
we have heard
and seen. We saw Him with our own
eyes and
touched Him with our own hands. He is
Jesus Christ,
the Word of life. He is the One who is
Eternal
Life. (NLT)
It is sometimes hard for us
to understand why our Infinite, Almighty LORD God, the Creator of Heaven and
Earth, lowered Himself to become a mere mortal man like ourselves. Especially,
so He could suffer in such a horrible, shameful way and then die a criminal’s
death in our place. This single act of unconditional love not only saved our
eternal lives, but also changed the course of history as well. The resurrection
of Jesus into a glorious new body that would never again experience suffering
or death also became our own resurrection if we so desire. This Good
News, my friends, is the Truth that gives new meaning to our lives. For
when we have the kind of hope that tells us we will be resurrected from the
grave of this earth, to receive a glorious new body that will never again
suffer or die, gives us an incentive to do what is good and pleasing in the
eyes of God; the One who made it all possible.
But don't be fooled, for
there is a price that we must yet pay even though our salvation has already
been bought and paid for in full. And
the price you must pay will cost you your old life of sin, for it must be
nailed to the Cross of Christ, where it can no longer live and reign in your
midst. For it is only then, that we
become a new creation in Christ Jesus, and it is this new person, whose sins
are covered by the blood of Jesus, that receives the Crown of Life from the
Eternal One who has always been and always will be. Without Messiah’s sacrifice and death there
would be no forgiveness, no glorious resurrection, and no eternal life. But with this undeserved gift we must also
sacrifice and die as well—reemerging as a child of the Eternal King.
A Whisper of Hope
I died so you could live, My child...To give you
new life in Me. Nothing about this life
I have given you is easy, but living in Me will make it worth its trouble in
gold. For when you are in Me, I, too, Am
in you and I AM the Infinite, Eternal One.
Colossians
3:3, 5, 10
For you died
when Christ died, and your real life is hidden with
Christ in God.
So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking
within you. In
its place you have clothed yourselves with a brand-
new nature
that is continually being renewed as you learn more
and more about
Christ, who created this new nature within you.
(NLT)
Those who say they live in God should
live their lives as Christ did.
(1 John 2:6)
