Freely Alive

1 John 3:24

Those who obey God's commandments live in

fellowship with Him, and He with them.  And

we know He lives in us because the Holy Spirit

lives in us.  (NLT) 

     If you say you are a Christian, but cannot curve your appetite for sin, you do not have the Holy Spirit helping you control your sinful addictions. If you say you love God but you do not obey His laws, you do not have the Spirit of Truth living in your heart. If you say you believe that Jesus Christ is the Light and Savior of the world, but continue to live in the darkness, you are only fooling yourself, for it is the Holy Spirit who gives us the desire to live in the Light of God. You cannot serve the gods of this wicked world and be a child of the Living God. When you follow the gods of this world, you cannot faithfully serve our God in Heaven.  And you cannot expect to receive the blessings of God when you are living in darkness, satisfying your own sinful flesh. Without God's blessings you will have nothing to bless others with. When you are living your life just for you and ignoring the One who created you, you are living far away from the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and living in close fellowship with the devil and the gods of this evil world.

     We live in a world that is far away from its Creator. We live in a world filled with hate, greed, and self-love. We live in a world that denies the deity of King Jesus, to worship a vast array of man-made gods who promise you much, but can only deliver instant gratification, darkness, and more of the same. Living in this world is simple a very dangerous proposition for all people, because without God's cover of protection we are easy prey for those who want to eternally harm us. The only wise option you have, my friends, is receiving the gift of salvation through the blood of Messiah Jesus and the power of God through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.  Because without God safely guiding you through this difficult life-journey, you will not make it to Heaven!  It is not easy staying on the path of righteousness that God calls us to travel on, but with the blood of Jesus as your cover and the Holy Spirit as your Guide, this fallen world holds no power over you—you are free and alive and safe!

                                  A Whisper of Hope

Fellowship with Me, dear child...is life. Without it, there is only a meek existence and false hope.  Do not be fooled by the gods of this wicked world, because in them there is only darkness and death.  They promise much, but what they deliver is dark in nature and leads only to your demise.

Philippians 3:7-8, 9

I once thought these things were valuable, but now I

consider them worthless because of what Christ has

done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compar-

ed with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my

Lord. For His sake I have discarded everything else,

counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ

and become one with Him. (NLT)

         Dear children, keep away from anything that might

                       take God's place in your hearts.
