The Son Shines
Matthew 3:8
Prove by the
way you live that you have really
turned from
your sins and turned to God. (NLT)
There is more to salvation
than mere words. We must have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to help us
transition from a lifestyle of sin and self-gratification to a lifestyle of
godly living and self-sacrifice. We need
the power of God to help us fight the battles for our hearts and minds; those
the dark forces of evil that want to pull us away from God and His protection. Satan
is indeed a dark and powerful force to be reckoned with and he is too powerful,
too clever, and too evil for our finite human strength, our fallen human will,
and our limited human knowledge. We do not stand a chance against the devil and
his army of demons in our current fallen state. We need Jesus or we will lose.
As a child of God, we develop the desire to
please Him. But we soon discover that it is much easier said than done, because
living a godly life is not a part of our sinful nature, nor does it coincide
with the ways of this wicked world. It is impossible to live in God's Light at
the same time you are living in the darkness of this wicked world. You may fool
other Christians for a while, but God cannot be fooled nor will He be
mocked. When you are truly God's child,
you will spend every day in His Presence, learning to live in this evil world
reflecting God's Light into its darkness.
And as you shine, your life begins to come into focus of a total
transformation from the inside out that starts in the heart. Those who know you
will see the amazing changes taking place, and they, along with many others,
will be drawn to you wanting to know what you know that they do not. The Lord wants His children to shine in this
dark world whose people are lost without even knowing it.
A Whisper of Hope
When you belong to Me, dear child...the changes that others see in
you will be your testimony to Me. You
need not prove your heart to Me, but the world needs to see My good work in
you, for I Am the only Way to everlasting life.
Deuteronomy
30:10
The LORD your
God will delight in you if you
obey His
voice, and if you turn to the LORD
your God with
all your heart and soul. (NLT)
“Now return to Me, and I will return to you,”
says the LORD Almighty.
(Malachi 3:7)
