Living Through Death
“Anyone who is
willing to hear should listen to the Spirit
and understand
what the Spirit is saying to the churches.
Whoever is
victorious will not be hurt by the second death.” (NLT)
Jesus Christ is our Lord
God and Savior; the One who defeated sin and death for us because we are
incapable of doing it on our own. He accomplished what we cannot. He became our
sin and was victorious over its sting by becoming the first to be resurrected
from the grave with a glorified body.
All people are cursed with sin and death. We all sin and we all die
because of sin—a very real reality that we must all face someday. If we are not
taken out early in life, we can count on our bodies growing old, wearing out,
and finally dying. God made man from the dust of the earth, and so shall we return
in this present fallen state. But we don't have to decompose in the darkness of
the grave forever, for there is Good News for those who embrace the death of
the Sacrificial Lamb of God as their own.
The child God grew into the God Man to die for the sins of mankind—so
that whosoever believed in the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus our Lord
would escape the second death of eternal condemnation. But for those who have
rejected the saving grace of Jesus' death, Judgment Day will be a dreadful day indeed,
for every non-believer will be raised from the darkness of their grave to face
the Lord and give a full account for how they lived their lives, and then be
thrown into the eternal burning Lake of Fire.
There are only two basic
choices you can make in this first leg of your life-journey. You can choose to live in the Light of God's
saving grace, or live in the darkness of this dying world. You can trust Jesus with your life and live
forever, or you can trust in the many gods of this evil world and forever
die. You can choose to take up your
cross and follow Jesus to receive the Crown of Life, or you can choose to
indulge in the sins of this wicked world while you can, and hope that God does
not exist. In the light of these choices
my friends, there is only One Choice that is wise. The Lord God, your Savior, has graciously
given you the opportunity to choose, but only in this life.
A Whisper of Hope
I give you a choice, dear child...a time to choose how to live this
life. It is not an easy decision to make
amidst the many voices of this fallen world that want your soul. All I ask is that you study your choices
carefully, weigh your options, and choose wisely—for your very life is at
stake.

John 5:11
For there are
three who bear witness in Heaven:
the Father, the
Word, and the Holy Spirit who
bears witness,
because the Spirit is truth. And this
is the
testimony: that God has given us eternal
life,
and this life
is in His Son. (NLT)
“If the
righteous are barely saved,
what
chance will the godless and sinners have?”
(1 Peter 4:18)
