Eternal Choice
Philippians
3:18-19
For I have told you often before, and I say it
again with tears
in my eyes, that there are many whose conduct
shows they are
really enemies of the cross of Christ. Their future is eternal
destruction.
Their god is their appetite, they brag about shame-
ful things, and all they think about is this life
here on earth. (NLT)
These words from the apostle Paul,
reinforces the urgency I feel for all those who are lost and don't know what to
believe about life and death; those who believe there is no accountability
after this life and others who are oblivious to the evil forces that are
leading them into the darkness of their eternal graves. There are so many people who have no clue to
the eternal state of their God given life.
I believe the greatest concern that everyone should have about this
life, is not where your next meal is coming from or if you will have enough set
aside to retire on, but that very moment when the flame of life flickers out,
because this life is the only chance we have to be reconciled with God through
Christ Jesus. When you breathe your
final breath on this earth, the state of your eternal soul will have already
been determined—you will have either made your choice or face the judgment of
God—you have either accepted God’s gift of salvation or not. Our gracious and merciful God wants no one to
suffer eternal death and damnation. But
we should know and understand that the Lord our God is not only perfectly holy,
but He is also the final perfectly just Judge.
There is an ultimate choice that is put
before every person living on this earth—a decision that will determine where
you spend your eternal life. You can
choose to follow Christ or this world.
You can choose the gift of salvation or take your chances. You can choose Heaven or Hell. God has given us the freedom to choose how we
live this life. But because God loves
the people He creates, He saved us from certain eternal death. He loves us so much that He shared the Truth
so we could make a wise decision before we die.
Knowing the Truth should bring you to your knees in thanksgiving,
because without Jesus, there is only eternal darkness and pain. If you are
living apart from God and taking your chances, you need to seriously reconsider
your choices before it is too late.
A Whisper of Hope
My
beloved child…do not allow the deception of this dark world to
cloud your mind. Live with eternity on
your heart, because this life is only the beginning of a very long time. Don't be caught off guard by your death, for
the choice will have already been made.
John
6:27
Spend your energy seeking the eternal
life that I, the Son of Man, can give you.
For God the Father has sent Me for that
very purpose.”
(NLT)
“This is what God wants you to do:
Believe in the One He has sent.”
(John
6:29)
