In Coming
1
Corinthians 5:7-8
Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed
for us. So
let us celebrate the festival, not by
eating the old bread of wickedness and evil, but
by eating the new bread of purity and truth. (NLT)
When a
person accepts the undeserved gift of forgiveness and salvation from our Lord
God and Savior, there is great reason for all Christians to rejoice and
celebrate this new life, as they do in Heaven.
But with the celebration of our new life of freedom from the power of
sin and death, the Lord also calls us to live the remainder of our life in
repentance, discarding the old sinful life that loves to sin, and put on the
robe of righteousness that loves to please God.
What a marvelous second chance this is, my friend; to be born again in
spirit and truth that changes your eternal destiny no matter how stained with
sin you were; to have a new beginning—a
brand new start. You have been
cleansed from a life of sin that kept you separated from God and chained to
death row.
The
Son of God died to set you free from the power of sin that this wicked world
embraces. You no longer have to fear
what tomorrow may bring or your even your death. And what joy it brings when you know that all
of our sins have been forever forgiven and forgotten by the Living God. What calm it brings during the storms of life
when you know that your name is written in God's Book of Life.
When
you accept and embrace the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as your own,
you should honor the One who saved you from the pits of Hell by not hiding in
the safety of your salvation. Instead,
hold the Light of Life as high as you can so other fellow travelers of this
difficult life-journey can see the Truth and be born again into the Kingdom of
our Lord God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
If you have not surrendered your old life of sin to the Lord, it would
be wise to do it soon. But if you have
already become a new creation, then rejoice so the whole world can see!
A Whisper of Hope
Rejoice
and celebrate, My child…for I have given My all so you could
have it all. This new life I offer is a
life of honor and glory; one of truth and righteousness. This new life in Me is truly worth living—a
life that is filled with hope and joy that no one can take from you. It is
yours to keep!
Colossians
2:13-14
You were dead because of your sins and because
your
sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made
you
alive with Christ. He forgave all our sins. He canceled
the record that contained the charges against
us. He
took it and destroyed it by nailing it to
Christ’s cross. (NLT)
Therefore if anyone is in
Christ,
he is a new creation; old things have
passed away; behold, all things have become
new.
(2
Corinthians 5:17)
