“All Anew”
2 Corinthians 4:16, 18
That is why we
never give up. Though our bodies are
dying, our spirits are
being renewed every
day. So we don’t look at the troubles we
can see right
now; rather, we look
forward to what we have not yet seen.
For the troubles
we see will soon be over, but the
joys to come will last forever. (NLT)
Since the beginning of time
there has never been nor will there ever be a trouble-free existence in our
world this side of Heaven. Since the
falling away from God, man has sought to create an utopian world, but has never
succeeded and he never will. We are
flawed people, living in a flawed world, and we are incapable of creating
anything that is perfect—imperfectness can never create that which is
perfect—it's simply not possible because it's one of God’s many absolutes. God is the only One who can bring about a
utopian world and when Jesus returns, He will do just that. Jesus
will remove all evil and get rid
of Satan and all unrepentant sinners.
He will set up His Kingdom that will never end and bring total peace to
our world. Our finite minds cannot even
begin to fathom a peaceful world without wars and death—a perfect world without
end.
The Lord tells us that
nothing can compared to the Glory that God has planned for us, for the Lord is
going to create a new Heaven, a new Earth, and an entirely new universe for us
to enjoy and with Him forever. We have a
glorious Creator who promises to make our Christian lives worth all the trouble
that living in this sinful world brings.
The Living God wants His children to stay focused on the eternal
consequences of this extremely short-lived life. So ask yourself these questions and then
choose carefully, my friend: Am I only
striving to gain what this sinful world offers, denying the eternal consequences? Or am I striving to live a righteous life,
denying the world’s self gratifying pleasures that last but a moment? The answer you give will decide the choice
you make, and it will be the most important one of your earthly life as a
finite human being with an eternal future, because the time you are allotted to
answer and choose is not only extremely short lived, but how short it is, is
uncertain as well.
A Whisper of Hope
Think
eternally and carefully…for you must choose Me or the world. You can either live in Me and wait for the
eternal rewards I promise, or you can bathe in the pleasures of this sinful
world and die in eternal darkness. It is
your choice to freely make, dear child.
Make it wise and make it soon.
Revelation 21:3-4
“Look, the
home of God is now among His people! He
will live with them,
and they will
be His people, God Himself will be with them.
He will remove
all of their
sorrows, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain.
For the old
world and its evils are gone forever.”
(NLT)
Yet what we
suffer now is nothing compared to
the glory He will give us later.
(Romans 8:18)
