“Light Speaking”

 1 Kings 17:24

Then the woman told Elijah, “Now I know for sure that you are

a man of God, and that the LORD truly speaks through you.”  (NLT)

     Christian people that have been transformed by the power of God do not have to perform miracles to prove they belong to God, because the change itself is the miracle.  With the change, we become one with the Holy Spirit who speaks through us so the world will hear and hopefully believe.  In the fallen state of sin and darkness that the world is consumed in, it's not easy living with the Holy Spirit as your voice and guide, because the world hates and denies Jesus Christ, who is the Lord our God and Savior.    The world cringes at the very Name of Jesus and hates the goodness and power that goes before Him.  Because of our condition, we are all born as children of wrath and it is only because of the sacrificial death and resurrection power of our Lord God that we don’t all die as children of wrath.  While God lived on the earth as a man, He set a holy standard for people to live by—standards that go against the grain of this world and its self-gratifying standards.  When we truly receive the gift of salvation, we not only speak the Truth, but we also live by it. 

     There always has been, and there always will be deceivers who speak the words of God’s truth to impress others and for their own personal gain. And with the power that Satan possesses over the world, these deceiver's can easily fool people who don't know the Lord, and it's absurd to think they can fool God, but they try anyways.  You are either with God or you are against Him, for there is no middle ground.  Being lukewarm, continually turning God on and off, is a very dangerous game to play, my friends.  When you truly belong to Christ Jesus, you will speak from your new heart and draw others into His saving Light by the power of the Holy Spirit.  We may be tempted to go back into the darkness of this world, but you can be sure that if your heart is right, the Lord will keep you in the Light where you belong.  Everyone falls short of the holy standards that God sets for us and it will remain so until Jesus creates everything anew.  But for now, we have God as our Rock, the Son as our Hope, and the Holy Spirit as our Power, and when we live and love like Jesus, the world around us will not only watch and listen a bit more closely, but we will see some of the most unlikely people drawn into the Light that saves!

                                  A Whisper of Hope

Live and love as I do, My child…For when you do you will truly live.  You cannot save yourself or anyone else, for only I can accomplish that.  But what you speak and how you live can make a glorious difference in this fallen world that needs the Truth.   

Ephesians 2:1-3

Once you were dead, doomed forever because of your many sins.  

You used to live just like the rest of the world, full of sin, obeying 

Satan, the mighty prince of the power of the air.  He is the spirit 

at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.  All of us 

used to live that way, following the passions and desires of our 

evil nature.  We were born with an evil nature, and we were 

under God’s anger just like everyone else.  (NLT)

                           

                        “I know all the things you do, 

                      that you are neither hot nor cold. 

                But since you are like lukewarm water, I

                     will spit you out of my mouth!”  

                                    (Revelation 3:15, 16)
