“Stayin’ Alive”

 John 15:4

Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. 

For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is

severed from the vine, and you cannot be

fruitful apart from Me.  (NLT)

     It is absolutely essential for every Christian, no matter where they are in their walk with the Lord, to stay connected to God by daily prayer, Bible reading, and meditating on every Word of God.  For it is by doing this that we receive the wisdom and power to overcome the decadence of this dying world that is closing in for the kill.  This priceless, infallible Truth is the heavenly nourishment that feeds our hearts and minds so we can develop the God-like attributes that produce a good quality of eternal fruit that this dying world is so hungry for and so desperately in need of.  And as we develop and share this life-saving fruit with the dying souls of the world, we must remain disease free and healthy.  Like any fruit bearing plant, we need the Gardener to nourish our growth by pruning and removing the growth that is dead, not healthy, or growing in the wrong direction.  God’s care and pruning will encourage new growth that will yield a heavenly crop of eternal fruit.  Without this everyday spiritual nourishing, the stems of our new life will weaken and the fruit that begins to develop will shrivel up and die, dropping away from the Branch to lie dead and rotten, ready for the Gardener to gather them up to be burned forever. 

     Without the Head Gardeners gardening skills, we are destined to fall away from the Branch and return to the world from which we came.  There are many hungry and starving souls who will taste of God’s heavenly fruit when the world’s nasty food turns sour in their stomachs, but they will only get nourished to return to their old feeding habits once again.  Don’t be one of the many who will partake in God's heavenly fruit for a while only to return their worldly feeding frenzy, because when you do, you will have been better off never having tasted the heavenly fruit in the first place.  Instead, eat your fill of God’s fruit and bathe in the glory of His Son's Light, where you will receive goodness and mercy and grace, and be nourished by the fruit of His Word that will keep you stayin' alive forever.

Remain connected to Me, dear child…For when you do, you will thrive and be fruitful.  But be aware of the false gardener, for he knows not the Way of the True Gardener.  He will prune and shape you to death, for his thumb is black and his nourishment is evil.  Feed on My every Word to remain healthy and stayin' alive!

1 Peter 2:21-22

It would be better if they had never known the right way to

live than to know it and then reject the holy commandments

that were given to them.  They make these proverbs come true:

“A dog returns to its vomit,” and “A washed pig returns to the mud.”  (NLT)

        Anyone who parts from me is thrown away like 

                    a useless branch and withers.

   Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned.
